Day 0 – To The Lizard

24th March 2018

Weather: Light rain

Distance (walked): 2.9km

Train Bristol-Plymouth-Redruth, then bus to Lizard village. Set off across slurried-mud fields, shortly gaining the coast path. Staying at Youth Hostel, a part of the lighthouse complex.

Forecast for tomorrow is excellent.

People: The lady who served me a Cornish pasty in Redruth; The four women at hostel who gave me a glass of sparkling wine- all from a reading group that had spawned a walking group; Richard & Dave volunteer wardens. I related my mission at hostel- all very impressed, me feeling a little fraudulent as I haven’t really started yet.

May your feet stay dry as you walk through the bog. May your face be unblemished as you walk in the sunshine.

May your knees be strong and your mind determined! From my armchair, reading all the preparation, I need a lie down! Enjoy that Cornwall view, wish I was there watching you.

    Good luck Gulliver!

  2. Congratulations on setting off and hope weather is as lovely as here in Altrincham. Really quite envious! Parkrun Beth 🙂
